Scoliosis is a condition of the spine.
We focus on the conservative treatment approach which is specific to one’s curve and also non-invasive. The goal of the treatment is to avoid surgery, eliminate and reduce pain as well as discomfort. It also helps improve posture.
Non-surgical Scoliosis management
Scoliosis is a condition of the spine where it is bends sideways and its accompanied by twisting. It can have a negative effect on a persons’ quality of life. When a scoliosis is mild it can affect an individual’s self-image and appearance. The unlevelled shoulders, unlevelled hips, sticking out shoulder blade or uneven waist will cause poor posture. In more of a larger curve, it can cause pain, stiffness, fatigue, and reduced movements. At its worst can have a negative effect on breathing and the function of the heart.
When scoliosis is left untreated in children, it can cause pain when they get to adulthood. If it is detected early, in most cases, it can be corrected and reduced without surgery. In adults, if treated earlier the pain can be managed and reduced. Treating the curves earlier in adulthood reduces the rate at which progression of the scoliosis and the degeneration occurs.
